Okay, we all like a bit of sunshine when we’re on holiday. But there’s plenty to get up to in Argyll even when the weather’s not so nice.
We thought we’d give you 10 of our favourite things to get up to when it’s raining!
Get Close to the Local Sea Life
What about exploring the underwater world, without even getting wet? The Sea Life Centre at Lomond Shores is a popular family attraction and the perfect opportunity to get close to over 1500 creatures (including Scotland’s largest selection of sharks). With fun talks, animal feeds & special events there’s something for everyone.
Tour a Working Brewery
Located at the head of Loch Fyne, Fyne Ales state-of-the-art farm brewery offers guided tours to see exactly how their wonderful beers are made, as well as tutored tasting. Afterwards, you can sit in their café with a pastry and a wee pint of your favourite beer – we recommend Jarl.
Indulge in First Class Leisure Facilities
The heated indoor swimming pools at Drimsynie Estate and Hunters Quay can be used to relax, keep fit or to have fun throughout your stay in Argyll. Or why not relax and indulge yourself in the modern sauna, steam room or Jacuzzi? Alternatively, our active family partner Portavadie offers the ultimate relaxation experience – you can chill out in a heated outdoor therapy pool, right on the edge of the loch, appreciating all that Argyll has to offer – bliss!

With 14 world-class distilleries dotting what’s known as the ‘whisky coast’, there’s nothing quite like taking a tour, and finding out about the history and culture behind this industry – And, of course - sampling a wee dram straight out the cask.
