14th February | Valentine’s Day

The Northern Lights visible from Scotland
You can catch the Northern Lights in Scotland, although experts predict that in years to come, they might not be visible

What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than relaxing with your loved one under a spectacular blanket of stars? Argyll is one of the most beautiful places in Britain to go stargazing. Enjoy the vast countryside starry skies, largely unspoilt by light pollution.

If you are lucky, you may even spot the Aurora Borealis! While we can never 100% guarantee the Northern Lights, they are much more visible in winter months. Therefore, Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to try and tick it off your bucket list. (Especially as experts are predicting that in a few years the Aurora Borealis may no longer be visible from the UK.)

20th February | A Secret (Botanic) Garden Tour

With 120 acres of distinct and beautifully landscaped gardens, the Benmore Botanic Garden is a must see when you’re in the area.

It has plenty to offer, whether you want to climb up to spectacular viewpoints, looking out for red squirrels and golden eagles, or pop into the charming shop for a local souvenir.

Unfortunately though, these botanic gardens were not on the agenda for those visiting in winter, as the park is closed from November to March. However, we are pleased to reveal their exclusive winter walk and talk on Thursday the 20th of February.

For one tour only, the Benmore Botanic Gardens are open for a select group, who can enjoy the peacefulness of the undisturbed gardens, and get to experience them at a time of year no one else gets to see. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth signing up to this tour.
