As part of this fin-tastic event, Sea Life Loch Lomond will be welcoming a mysterious new arrival, as a collection of ethereal mer-creatures move into the aquarium for a limited time only on 31 August, 1 and 7-8 September 2019.

The mer-people will travel from a secret location to visit the Loch Lomond Sea Life team and will make their home in the ocean tank, where they can interact with other sea creatures, as well as the sites’ human visitors of all ages.

Guests at the centre can pay the newcomers a visit and see them swim amongst a whole host of exciting ocean life including sharks and rays! The mer-creatures will also undertake Ariel-worthy activity, including brushing their hair with forks, and even interact via the tank’s glass using mermen and mermaid sign language.

As with any new creature introduction, the health and safety of the creatures is paramount, and fully trained Sea Life staff will be on hand throughout to ensure all ocean species are comfortable and calm.

Kathryn Angel, General Manager at Sea Life Loch Lomond said: “We’re delighted to prove that mer-creatures are ‘real’ this summer and can’t wait to welcome these rare and wonderful beings to our site. They’ll only be in our aquarium for a limited time, so it really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for guests old and young to visit us and interact with genuine mer-people.”

The spectacular new residency is part of Sea Life Loch Lomond’s Pirates and Mermaids activity, which runs throughout the summer from 20 July – 8 September and gives guests an insight into the magical and mysterious creatures of the deep which they follow via an onsite themed treasure trail.

Entry is from £9.95 per child but buy tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment and save 25%.
