    • Vistas & Shambolics to headline Showcase Stage
    • Competition to open GITG

Vistas have been making big waves over the past 12 months and will headline our Showcase Stage on The Friday night. The Edinburgh band burst onto Scotland's music scene with hooky choruses and radio ready tunes, and have sold out shows across the country, as well as adding festival slots across the UK. These guys will be huge, and it’s an honour to welcome them to Gig in the Goil.

Saturday night will see the Showcase Stage headlined by four-piece ‘Dreamy Rock & Roll' band, Shambolics. Hailing from Kirkcaldy in Fife, the band has enjoyed a host of important performances across the country, including a huge sell out show in Dunfermline to round-off 2018. They’ve been dubbed ‘One of Scotland’s Best New Bands’ by Fred Perry and were crowned ‘Best Rock/ Alternative Act’ at the prestigious SAMA Awards.

They’ll be joined on the Showcase Stage by fellow Fifers – Foreignfox & Amy Lou – both promising catchy music and high energy sets. The Roov are highly tipped and they emerged with their latest single ‘Nevada’ last month; it’s already picking up a lot of interest and we can’t wait to hear it at GITG. Fake Lips, The Super Pumas & the Unstoppable Flying Raincoats are three more upcoming acts to watch, and we’re excited to welcome them to Lochgoilhead in May.

After their explosive headline set at The Wee G, trad-pop band Headland join our Main Stage line-up, along with highly tipped Inverness outfit Calum Mackenzie Jones & the Trad Project, fresh from taking to the stage at the Red Hot Highland Fling. With a combined age of just 28, the Viral Train Weans (consisting of Connor Fyfe & Robin Ashcroft) are one to watch, and certainly worth checking out on our Main Stage on the Sunday afternoon. Also joining them on the Sunday are Rumskee – a young, high-energy traditional band from Argyll, and we can’t wait to welcome them to Gig in the Goil.

We’re also pleased to announce more acts for our intimate Fireside setting – Cal Roberts, Pete Kennaway, Amy Baillie, Ciara Watt, Tommy Weir, Ben Inglis & Connie McLeod.

We’ve also launched a competition offering the chance for an upcoming artist to perform on our Showcase Stage on Friday 17th May, to get the event underway – Head over to our Facebook for more information.
