What is Gig in the Goil?

Gig in the Goil is a small festival, due to be held in Lochgoilhead between Friday 5th & Sunday 7th May 2017.  The festival will showcase a rich variety of live music & entertainment over 3 indoor stages, plus delcious food & drink produce.

Where is ‘Gig in the Goil’ being held?

The ‘Main Stage’, in the Entertainment Hall & Rob Roy Lounge at Drimsynie House Hotel will welcome the award-winning Skerryvore, highly tipped Tide Lines and "Scottish Dance Band of the Year 2017" Trail West amongst others. Located upstairs in Drimsynie House Hotel, the ‘Castle Lounge’ will showcase a rich variety of upcoming acts in a unique venue with a vintage feel, including Scnarff SchnarffBe Charlotte & 100 Fables, whilst the cosy Fireside Bar will host ‘Fireside Sessions’, with the best solo artists from around Scotland performing in an intimate setting.

There will also be food & drink available throughout these venues across the weekend.



What are the opening times?

How can I purchase a ticket?

Tickets can be purchased online through our official ticketing distributers ‘Ticketweb' & 'Billetto' ( / as well as Drimsynie House Hotel Reception. Very limited tickets remaining.

How much are tickets?

Day tickets start from £10, with weekend tickets starting from £25. More info from our ticketing distributers (listed above).

What if I’m a Holiday Home Owner or Local Resident?

We are offering Argyll Holidays Holiday Home Owners & Local Residents (Lochgoilhead) the opportunity to purchase tickets at a discounted loyalty rate.  Owners should receive an email with a special access code, which they can use online to purchase their tickets.  Physical tickets can be purchased from Drimsynie or Hunters Quay reception, upon display of Owners Card or proof of address.  If you believe you should have received a pre-sale code but haven’t, please contact  

I’ve lost my ticket, what do I do?

If you’ve purchased your ticket online through Billetto, then chances are you will have received an e-ticket.  If you email they will be able to reissue your ticket.  Unfortunately we cannot replace hard tickets issued in person through our ticket outlets.

Where do I get my wristband?

There will be a wristband collection point in the carpark of Drimsynie House Hotel, where you can exchange your ticket for a wristband, valid throughout the weekend.

Can I get a ticket refund?

It is not our policy to issue refunds on tickets, unless the event is cancelled or postponed.  In the event you can’t make the festival, we recommend you sell your ticket on for face value through Gumtree ( or social media channels.  Tickets purchased through third-parties are done so at your own risk.

What is your policy on under 18s?

As we’re a family-friendly festival, under 18’s will be welcome, as long as they’re accompanied by a responsible adult over 18.  One adult can be responsible for up to four children under 18. Children under 10 are admitted free of charge.

Can I re-enter the festival venues?

Yes, you will be issued with a wristband on arrival, so as long as you keep this on, you will be allowed to exit and re-enter the various venues throughout the weekend.

I’m not coming to Gig in the Goil, can I still use Drimsynie House Hotel?

Yes, all of the leisure facilities and amusements will still be open.  The pool kiosk be open, selling snacks along with cold drinks.  Upstairs in the hotel, La Rustica Italian Restaurant will be serving food throughout the weekend, but booking in advance is essential by calling 01301 703344.



Where is Lochgoilhead?

Lochgoilhead is a small picturesque village, located within Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, just 6 miles off the A83 Rest & be Thankful.  Overlooking the stunning Loch Goil, the location is most famous for appearing in James Bond film “With Russia with Love”.

What’s public transport like?

A daily bus service operates from Helensburgh to Lochgoilhead (except Sundays), timetable is available here:

Alternatively, Lochgoilhead is 13 miles from Arrochar & Tarbet Railway Station (with trains from Glasgow Queen Street), and 6 miles from the Rest & be Thankful, where buses between Glasgow & Oban or Campbeltown often stop – please check with your driver before boarding.  There is a local taxi company that picks up from both of these locations – call 01301 703 634.

We are also operating return coaches from Hunters Quay (Dunoon) to Lochgoilhead (Friday & Saturday), which will leave at 4pm (Friday) and 11am (Saturday), picking up at Loch Eck, Strachur & St Catherine’s on the way to the festival.  It leaves Lochgoilhead to return at half past midnight. Can I stay for the weekend?

All of our onsite accommodation has now sold out for the festival weekend, however you can find holiday homes at our other parks here:  There are also a number of local guesthouses.  Unfortunately we do not offer camping facilities at Gig in the Goil. 

Is there car parking?

Although there will be car parking, it will be very limited.  We urge you (where possible) to car share, use our return coaches, or book accommodation neaby - which usually includes car parking.

Can I use my phone?

You can use mobile phones supported by the Vodafone or EE network in Lochgoilhead.  There is also a payphone located just across from the Festival site, should you need access to a phone during your visit.

What else is there in Lochgoilhead?

Lochgoilhead has a small licensed Costcutter, Post Office, Bowling Green, Doctor Surgery, Primary School, Village Hall & Church.  There are also a wide array of local walks and outdoor places of interest, with the area incredibly rich in wildlife.



Who is performing at Gig in the Goil?

We have a diverse line-up booked for the festival, with a rich variety of bands and acoustic acts performing over 3 venues.  You can find the latest line-up at Day splits will be announced in April. Line-up is subject to change.

Are there bars onsite?  Do I need ID?

We have a number of licensed bars across the venues, and as a result we operate a challenge 25 policy.  If you’re lucky enough to look under 25 then please expect to show ID when purchasing alcohol.  ID can be in the form of a passport, driving license, or other ID which includes the ‘PASS’ logo.
