It all began in 1967, when Douglas & Jean Campbell purchased a single caravan to let out on their small farm in Lochgoilhead. Argyll Holidays was born - little did they know that this would be the start of something so special.

With our business having grown steadily over the first 10 years, 1978 marked the purchase of Drimsynie Hotel - a big step forward!

During 1986 curling facilities and a swimming pool were added giving holidaymakers two great options for recreation whilst staying at our park.

During 1991, we purchased a piece of land and began groundwork on a second site - Hunters Quay.

Construction continued at Hunters Quay during 1992 with the first major structures being erected.

Throughout 1995 we developed the St. Catherine’s Caravan Park. It is a is a small and peaceful park exclusive to only 64 caravan owners.

In 1997, we sold our first lodge at our Loch Eck Holiday Park - a new park, just down the road from Hunters Quay Holiday Village.

Our mascot, Rusty the Squirrel was introduced to the world in 2011. This loveable critter has been part of the Argyll Holidays brand ever since.

We introduced Go Active at our parks. The scheme offers loads of fantastic indoor and outdoor activities for people to enjoy whilst staying with Argyll. Since then 90,840 arrows have been shot every year.

The Summer Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are held in London. Team GB came third in the medals table behind only the USA and China. It is estimated that 90% of the UK population watched the games. Image Credit

2014 saw us add Loch Lomond Holiday Park to the group. The addition of this park took us to a total of eight holiday and owners parks.
